Just saw commercial ads last night during Biggest Loser. Have you? First, I thought it’s great. Awww, look at them. Aren’t they cute?

BUT I find annoying to see the hearing men don’t know sign language when have girlfriend who is deaf and oral. My friend is right, it’s very sad.

I guess we may not see the real deaf culture for a while since Pepsi’s ads during Super Bowl, which was awesome and funny.

Wow, MADtv been running for 14 years, and finally, it cancel by FOX. Be honestly, I don’t like it anymore. I do miss the old day on first 2 or 3 seasons running with original staffs I’m familiar. They were so funny than Saturday Night Light (SNL).

Later in few after fourth season, new staffs being replace for every year or so. I cannot stand watch it because thing getting too annoying or too stupid. I start find little interest on SNL, part thank to Tina Fey. She is one of my favorite writers. But she also can be that funny, too. Well, yeah, she is beautiful. Pity, she is married.

I have to saying that I’m glad that MADtv show has finally die. Now with empty schedule on Saturday night, I wonder what it would be fit as. Probably re-run from House MD or Sarah Conner if they would fit in the schedule.

Anyway, there is one of my favorite clip from MADtv where they mix with Pulp Fiction and Forrest Gump which was too funny. Wish there is Closed Caption available, but I am able to familiar what they’re talk about.

Starting in November, AT&T will limit downloads to 20 gigabytes per month for users of their slowest DSL service, at 768 kilobits per second. The limit increases with the speed of the plan, up to 150 gigabytes per month at the 10 megabits-per-second level.

First, I thought it would be good news to reduce download the illegal software or video. But it would be bad for user who uses iTunes to download LEGAL video. For a moment, I forget about videophone. It would be bad news. I figure on how much bandwidth it would use on video stream during base of one-hour conversation. It depends on heavy motion.

~~It doesn’t look good. I smell the riot over ISP issues. Okay, maybe send letter to communicate company is good to start to have them listen us. Fire away!~~

I got confuse with bits and bytes. Therefore, I make mistake and update the correct calculator. Therefore, it’s approximately 345 Mbytes per hour. It’s not too bad. I hope.

Am I still use VCR?

Just let anybody wonder if I’m use VCR. Answer is YES. I’m still VCR. The only useful that I could watch it if I ever miss it and isn’t available to record through over-the-air (OTA). Or even on landline cable during the CW in digital channel is messy with digital closed caption (CC). Yes, I already send the complain letter to CW station in my location and FCC about the CC issues.

I find weird that when it show fine in first minutes until CW logo appear it become either it skip or appear in half before the sentence suppose to be finish. It doesn’t matter if it’s on OTA or landline. What a messy.

So, that’s why I’m still use VCR whatever I ever miss any good show I want to watch. Often, I request from my friend to record it for me which he have nice cable service which I don’t have one in my local. And there is certain channel I don’t have in my basic package. He does. Hey, call me cheapskate.

Of course, I do aware that he does own the DVD recorder. BUT… It have an issues with caption closed, no matter how it can record. It’s messy and cannot be record all over again like tape. Unless, it’s “DVD-RW”… Or is that suppose be “DVD+RW”? Anyway, I afraid it would be confuse if thing get right between his DVD player and my DVD player to confirm.

Anyway, I had VCR since 1996. That would be 12 years and count. It still running great, who can complain it?

My iPod Touch (2G)

I brought it right after iPod Touch 2G introduce from recently Apple Event. I really like it so much as I could make easy look up on website and check e-mail at home or anywhere with Wi-Fi available. I could watch movie with subtitle or closed caption (see demo) or play game whatever I’m bore.

New Facebook 2.0 for iPod Touch/iPhone is pretty cool, I simple shake my iPod to get new update. Wick! Anyway, I would like to share what my iPod look like as it take by screenshot.

One big main reason I love to have my own iPod Touch because I’m on travel often. When I’m in airplane, stewardess usually tells me to put my laptop away before landing. It’s kind too much for me. To have iPod Touch does solve my problem to put away in easy way.

By the way, I would love to have iPhone, but it’s too expensive to use at&t with TAP plan. And there isn’t quite features that meet my need such as tethering to my laptop.

That’s how the current HDMI works with HDTV

Reference from Banjo’s World on “Equal Access: HDMI is Inaccessible” that is about HDMI that we, deaf and hard of hearing, need to have it go through to HDTV. Subtitle can be the problem with anybody with poor visual. Built-in Closed Caption from media box isn’t help that much, but useful with Sling anyway. So, the figure should help to clear up.

I had Powerbook 3G, Pismo model since 2001. It failed like 2 years ago which it have Sound / AC Power Input Board problem as it cannot recharge or even power-up. I order the new one from eBay and replace it by myself. But it wouldn’t able to work properly. I couldn’t figure out what’s wrong. I give up and leave it in duct while I was busy abuse my iBook for short year then MacBook, which I current own it. Until few weeks ago, I decided it was good time to get my Pismo repair to find out what’s really wrong. I use third-party from Powerbook Media which seem good cost. I shipped to there and later, found out that it wasn’t logic board, it was first place I thought. It’s only need hard driver replace. Good thing, it was crap 12GB HDD into 112GB HDD. Awesome, it finally running great as just the basic to use such as surf over Internet. But video don’t running that well. Who care! Powerbook 3G live!!!

I was at ZestFest (click link that will tell you about the expo) with friends. Guess what? I met Miss Texas 2008 (also 2007), Rebecca Robinson. She is too hot to touch! Oh hey, she suddenly tried her best to use sign language to make herself introduce to me. That’s really cute, thought. Hope Miss Texas win in America Pageant 2009. Yeah, I don’t think they allow me date her. You know how busy she would be.

Follow up at ZestFest, I tried many different spicy food. Although, I do enjoy those samples, I thought of try the spiciest to make part of great experience. I even tried two most spicy sauces and it killed my tongue. Oh! My stomach!

iPod Classic and Nano with Closed Caption

If you’re think about get iPod Classic or Nano instead iPod Touch or iPhone. But you’re not sure about closed caption (CC) support. I’m show the proof that both lately iPod model that does support CC and does appear on the display. Text size is somewhere small but fair to read. Let saying it’s not too bad for anyone with good visual. It’s not only for deaf but for hearing, which is ideal, to watch in the noise level area.

Take note, the movie with closed caption is available from iTunes with Power Search. So far, I checked there is 94 movies with CC on list. I brought Italian Job (1969) that support CC that can be view on iTunes or iPod the lately model.

The reasons I shouldn’t get iPhone yet

1. Monthly is narrow expensive for me. I’m happy with Sprint Relay plan with my (ick) Centro) which is only $30 per month. Acknowledge that there is TAP plan for deaf but it’s still bit expensive than the normally which is $50 on 3G and $40 on original (EDGE).

2. There is no copy and paste feature. Imagine that its advance operator system for mobile and yet, it has no copy/paste!

3. Typing would slow me down. Of course, it would take time me to learn. Unfortunately, I couldn’t typing with one hand.

4. I fear that iPhone is like a glasses. Accessories are annoying. I prefer mobile phone in naked and be proud.

5. There is no tethering allow, at&t demand us to pay extra. Whatever I’m on road, I need an Internet on computer unlike seen on mobile phone. Yeah, I know there is Netshare but it keep removed from iTunes store.

6. 3G coverage isn’t great enough compare to EVDO. its better to await until it grow more. The more I will be satisfactory.

7. There is no video recorder mode. Have to buy an application to running iPhone as camcorder.

8. Lack battery, I may eat up battery when use ~~pushy~~ IMAP e-mail system. I’m medium user on surf web, e-mail and text-message.

Hello iPod Touch, here I come!
