<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><img src="http://illustrator.blog-alloon.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/05/BonesSilence.jpg" alt="" title="BonesSilence" width="260" height="260" class="alignright size-full wp-image-1436" />Policeman found a poor teenage girl in alley with cover of blood. Turn out it&#8217;s Deaf Jane Doe (actress: McKenzie Applegate), who tried defend herself from the kidnapper who abuses her and he already dead. The court orders Dr. Bones to examine on the live victim to find the answer.</p>
<p><span id="more-1435"></span><strong>Deaf Jane Doe aka Amy aka Samantha</strong><br />
Deaf Jane Doe, (actress: <a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm2427516/">McKenzie Applegate</a>) is the scary girl who tried asking for a help. From what I understand the situation on being abuse that anyone would trends to have blank face or grief after being shock. Since I do not see much of the expressive while make out of communicate with ASL. That what I would agree on how her perform appears. Her true parents appear to know ASL. That&#8217;s one question I would like to know if they&#8217;re deaf or not. My best guess, they&#8217;re hearing, I&#8217;m sure.</p>
<p>Oh, if you wonder if that actress, Applegate, is deaf or hearing. Just unfortunately that actress is hearing and had skill in ASL or either being train. She just makes her perform that well. I recall by seen her in Desperate Housewife a while time ago.</p>
<p><strong>Lawyer, Interpreter or Social Work?</strong><br />
Meacham (actress: <a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1648149/">Michelle L. Gardner</a>) told that she is attorney who know ASL and protect for Jane Doe while Dr. Bones is need to follow from the court&#8217;s order, have Jane Doe to be cooperate by take some sample from her mouth and hair. Yet, from what I seen that Meacham&#8217;s role act like if she is social work the way she is assist the communicate for her like if she is an interpreter.</p>
<p>It&#8217;s rare to seen lawyer who have ability in ASL. Yes, it would be nice and wonderful service to have one. I&#8217;m not sure about 100% on how the system works. By the way that Gardner, the actress is hearing.</p>
<p><strong>American Regional Sign Language</strong><br />
Just an concept as &#8220;American Regional English&#8221; when Dr. Bones figures on where Deaf Jane Doe&#8217;s sign language come from. It&#8217;s neat that they&#8217;re using high-tech to detect on her sign to find the word it match where is base from location &#8211; Pennsylvania. It makes excellent sense on how we grew up from school and friends in which location and become our prime communicate. It&#8217;s like you said, &#8220;Coke&#8221; in Southern and &#8220;Pop&#8221; in Northeastern.</p>
<p>I thought it&#8217;s amazing technology to find different sign language that would tell where from. I&#8217;m sure that you may remember example from CSI: Crime Scene Investigation: The Two Mrs. Grissoms where Marlee Matlin played in, someone was able to realize from someone&#8217;s unique sign that tell where the region is from. This time, that one is much different. However, I do not think they would able to make specs on where location is, if it just a luck show up.</p>
<p><strong>Final thought</strong><br />
I enjoy when I don&#8217;t hear any issues with Cochlear implant (CI) like the first 3 or 4 shows like CSI, Law &#038; Order and House MD that had to be involve with CI. That program makes thing feel more reality to deal with deaf when they&#8217;re in trouble. I&#8217;m little disappointment that find out that actress who plays as Deaf Jane Doe isn&#8217;t actual deaf. So, I give it 4 out of 5.</p>
<p>If you haven&#8217;t seen, you have 4 weeks left until the free episode on hulu.com will expire from this post&#8217;s date: <a href="http://www.hulu.com/watch/235811/bones-the-signs-in-the-silence">Bones: The Signs in the Silence</a></p>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><img src="http://illustrator.blog-alloon.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/04/sl177.jpg" alt="" title="First Alert SL177" width="200" height="164" class="alignright size-full wp-image-1243" />As you may aware there are several states have law required for Deaf who rent apartment, house, etc., are require to provide visual smoke alarm. I hope that there are more states are universal on required like one.</p>
<p>However, I would like to share my brief experience that I live in the apartment. Before my roommate and I move in, we request to be sure they have the visual smoke alarm install. So, they did install 4 detectors with green LED light: 2 in bedrooms, one in living room and one in hall room. I was glad that system works out well for us.</p>
<p><strong>THE INCIDENT</strong><br />
Until few months ago, there was an incident on next unit building; there was fire or accident that turn the alert and spread to other building to aware of warning. It was a late morning as we both still up. At first, we weren’t aware of the alert. Thank to my best friend, who able to hear the detector turn pretty loud as I barely can hear it. My roommate doesn’t hear anything at all. For quite time, the alert has finally stopped. Nothing serious has happen; there was just a minor incident. We’re glad that doesn’t damage well.</p>
<p><span id="more-1244"></span>Suddenly, I realize there was no strobe, just sound. Be understand, there are 2 separate alarm system, one detector alert for inside house and another detector is for warning that there is fire/smoke from other building. I start being concern on how I can know if the visual smoke alarm is work properly.</p>
<p><strong>ISSUES WITH SL177</strong><br />
At first, I thought I would need to make test to make sure to test. It’s normally that everybody should check to test for every month to make sure it works. Its very recommend from fire depart. Yet, I DO NOT see the test button around on visual smoke alarm. I have to make a quick research to find out what kind model that I thought I would find the instruction booklet on tell me how to push the test button. By the way, the model called <a href="http://www.firstalertstore.com/store/catalog.asp?item=1242">SL177 from First Alert</a>.</p>
<p>It tells me that visual smoke alarm does have the test button and I still do not see it! Yet the booklet did mention that it does have one… from the main detector that controls the all detectors. I puzzled and decide to make a request from apartment office to have them test our visual smoke detector. I was hope if they know what to do that we don’t. We need to make sure it’s work properly, even after the incident; it doesn’t appear the signal for us.</p>
<p>We, my roommate and I was upset that it’s third time within near 3 months, we had to make request from apartment office until they finally come and check to test the detector. Turn out; there is main detector miss!!! While that we have all four are just “sibling”. That’s why it needs the main one that control all to test. They remove one and install the correct detector only in hall room. It does have test button to click to hold for 5-second and it have AMAZING strobe in every rooms. We could be blind! That’s great.</p>
<p><strong>LESSON HAS LEARN</strong><br />
Apartment staffs make their mistake by install all “sibling” visual smoke alarm without the main one. They may be new with detector but they didn’t read the instruction careful. It’s also our responsible; include you, to test if it’s work and report to apartment office if it doesn’t work.</p>

It is! Duh!</p>
<p>I admit I thought of something funny going on. Even I tried use my videophone number on one of insurance company which I couldn’t recall that name. I was applying to find out the quote. The error appears that they couldn’t recognition on area code. So, I had to use my mobile phone number, if even they tried call me. I&#8217;m helpless.</p>
<p><span id="more-1237"></span>However, it led me to think about what’s up with my videophone number. So, I decide to look up on <strong><a href="http://www.whitepages.com">WhitePages.com</a></strong> to check out if that number able to reverse the information on where I live.</p>
<p>Yep, it shows as landline and estimate on where I live. Therefore, it should prove that my number isn’t bull.</p>
<p>You can check if your videophone number is real local number then Sorenson did a good job. &#8211; <a href="http://www.whitepages.com">WhitePages.com</a>. Thank <em>Miss-Delectable</em> for head up!</p>

Thought I want to tell something when I receive news about Purple being bust by Federal. It seem that unknown author who spread the news on that weblog called &#8220;<a href="http://purpledead.blogspot.com/">PurpleDead</a>&#8220;. That person sound like being glad about it. Probably, he or she is such an angry person as I think of. Anyway, I look up on something that I feel something is funny going on.</p>
<ol>
<li>Name of Weblog is &#8220;PurpleDead&#8221;, I think that&#8217;s immature and pointless.</li>
<li>That weblog have only one and probably will never again.</li>
<li>Their profile doesn&#8217;t reveal, probably work for Sorenson, hard-cord fan of SVRS, etc.</li>
<li>The source given by Biz.Yahoo have no actual reference or original on whom report. (okay, maybe I don&#8217;t know that part)</li>
<li>The only true I know about Purple, they&#8217;re not bankrupt. Not yet, because there is no confirm at moment.</li>

<p>Don&#8217;t be jumpy until we have the actual fact information about Purple. Don&#8217;t be sorry for them, just do whatever you like their service or not. I only like them because I was able to use on my MacBook to use VRS with iChat.</p>

Since quite amount of deaf who own iPhone to meet their happy-dom. Great. And someone think of use mobile phone as bed shaker. Great. But iPhone isn’t great idea to place under your bed because anyone probably would smash the whole glasses plate. No fear, there is awesome accessories for iPhone. It also works with iPod Touch if you have one.</p>
<p>A friend of mine, show me that there is cool speaker system for iPhone. Surprise, it comes with bed shaker with few awesome features that does something with iPhone. It’s pretty expensive but it’s probably different and much worth in part of style in bedroom than dull Sonic Alert thing. It got cool display than any alarm clock with bed shaker.</p>
<p>I find it weird that it come with sound along the bed shaker, that&#8217;s something for hearing to get. For myself, I’m not sure during some reason on cost and some features to meet my need. Well, you can check it out and see if that suit for you. Cheer!</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><img src="http://illustrator.blog-alloon.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/02/vrs_software.png" alt="" title="VRS software" width="600" height="200" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-1213" /><br />
ZVRS was first introduce (unsure who claim but my own witness) <a href="http://www.zvrs.com/z-series/z4">Z4</a> the software that support both Mac and PC. I thought that would be great. I have been await for kind software where I could use and call direct from my MacBook.</p>
<p><span id="more-1212"></span>Yet, there is <a href="http://www.sprintrelay.com/">Sprint Relay</a> does offer software compatible for Mac and PC. I start to notice both are similar engineer software on how to use. I haven’t download when ZVRS was first introduce. This time, I was able to download from Sprint Relay’s site. And I found the source on where it comes from. It’s <a href="<a href="http://www.mirial.com/products/Mirial_Softphone_HD.html">Mirial Softphone</a>&#8220;>Mirial Softphone</a>.</p>
<p>Look like Mirial have development, well, smart application that can be use both Mac and PC to make the video conferencing. It makes sense because it can be compatible with 4G wireless. What&#8217;s smart thing about Sprint, they would able to sell 4G modem to use for either PC or Mac laptop. It&#8217;s match in heaven to use anywhere.</p>

<p>UPDATE 02.23.10 9:29 AM: <a href="http://www.twitter.com/williebike">@williebike</a> CSDVRS/ZVRS provides the technical solution to couple different VRS companies- and Sprint is one of them.</p>

It’s true Typing Relay Service for smartphone that’s what I look for. I installed on my iPod Touch, it also work, too, only when you’re connect to Wi-Fi while iPhone can be anywhere with coverage available.</p>
<p><a href="http://illustrator.blog-alloon.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/02/photo-2.jpg" rel="lightbox[1199]"><img src="http://illustrator.blog-alloon.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/02/photo-2-133x200.jpg" alt="" title="IP-Relay Dialing" width="133" height="200" class="alignleft size-medium wp-image-1201" /></a>What I like about thing on IP-Relay app, it have friendly keypad just like it give you an experience to call on your own instead use AOL Instant Messaging. Heck, it make quick to dial up. It also went along with current contact on what you have in your iPhone or iPod Touch.</p>
<p>When I dial, it seems obviously understood by identity over my device. Of course, <a href="http://www.fcc.gov/cgb/dro/numbering_and_e911_for_vrs_ip.html">it requires us to register by FCC for E911</a>. It went over the web browser to input my information, it’s base on who you are, your email and your resident address. After done for short minutes and approve. It instantly gives me own 10-digit numbers. That’s quick than I thought.</p>
<p><span id="more-1199"></span>After finish register, I went back and open IP-Relay and dial someone who is hearing, it being identity without me to log in. I think it’s probably made much easy and hassle-free when I want to make quick call without lose the save on login. It quick acknowledges my device’s ID.</p>
<p>The agent typing is the closer as I experience at online, you don’t even need put GA, because it auto done for us after hit the ENTER. It give the individual line to know which is mine and their. It’s friendly visual. For few minutes of conversation, I find it something to complain that app won’t allow us to change to landscape, because it would make easy to have wide virtual keyboard on display, because the standup is somewhere difficult to typing like I have been told in begin on <a href="http://illustrator.blog-alloon.com/archives/171">iPhone’s first introduce</a>.</p>
<p>Anyway, when I want to finish the conversation, I don’t need to typing “SKSK”, you just simple press “Hangup”, it will auto send SKSK to agent. It will asked me if I want to storage the conversation, you would click to copy and then paste to the Note app.</p>
<p>Allover, I think it’s great, there are quite amount of deaf I knew, own iPhone would be happy to have IP-relay app. Did I mention, it’s free?</p>
<p><strong>PRO</strong><br />
• Friendly dial keypad include the special instruction note<br />
• Contact is support<br />
• View on History of dialed calls<br />
• GA auto include after submit the message<br />
• Hang up auto send SKSK</p>
<p><strong>CON</strong><br />
• Landscape virtual keyboard not support<br />
<del datetime="2010-02-18T17:58:26+00:00">• No font resize</del><br />
• Not ideal to make call while on move during data loss<br />
• Use copy and paste the conversation to notepad instead its own<br />
• While on call, it needs to protect from have accident press button to return the front</p>
<p><strong>UPDATE 11:58am CST:</strong> Seem that IP-Relay app on iTunes have been disappear on search. Only it work when I had to go to <a href="http://appshopper.com/utilities/ip-relay">website</a> and click, it open iTunes to find right one for me.</p>
<p><strong>UPDATE 10:53pm CST:</strong> 10-digit isn&#8217;t work, I give that number to hearing to have them call me. That when I open IP-Relay on my iPod Touch. I don&#8217;t see incoming pop-up on the dispay. That sucks. Maybe it work on iPhone. Did anyone have it work?</p>
