That television commercial ads by American Heart Association just caught my attention which is about CPR to save life. It come with ASL (American Sign Language) which is pretty neat. To view the video, visit at HandsOnlyCPR.org and select the first panel of ASL to play.

Otherwise, I find it very simple education for everybody to know about CPR. It doesn’t mean you think you know but, it help if someone need to understand better or re-learn again. I haven’t done with CPR anyone and I afraid I may be rust. Haha

I would love to find out who this person play in the video. If anyone know, please tell me!

ASL in Family Guy

Normally, not everybody likes Family Guy. I have known several who love that cartoon. However I found it out from the original video by dragonballjz on YouTube that show an interesting scene that Peter use the American Sign Language (ASL). I find it pretty funny.

On the subtitle, it showed in translator what ASL saying. It’s seems flawless. To point out that on last three words, we usually spell “A-S-L” to make it brief. It looks like Signed Exact English (SEE) because Peter signing three words that way SEE is like. Thank to my friend for point on that part of scene.

This episode of Family Guy is original air on November 2003. The title called “When you wish upon a Weinstein“.

Thought on Heroes: Ink

Incredible about deaf actress, Deanne Bray, appear on Heroes on the 4th season, 3rd episode called “Ink”. The ability, Emma appear to have a power by see the audio-wavelength that normally, we cannot see. It creates the most beautiful colorful of sound. Hey, that’s sound of art to you.

I see Emma doesn’t want anybody know that she is deaf. Don’t want to have someone pity on her as the lower on. Yet, she appear to look like she is hearing and yet have problem to deal with her power. Went to see doctor who see know the sign language, even without certification interpreter, help to find what’s wrong with Emma. My assure, it’s her work, part personal, and able to have a benefit without waste time to check with doctor.

Wow, look at the bed! There is alarm clock with bed shaker under the mattress and flashing is over her head. Doesn’t it seem like too strong enough to have Earthquake?! Anyway, I’m looking forward on next few more episodes on what she is make of. Probably something deadly! Or just useful for good power.

I’m attend to WordCamp in Dallasto learn something interesting for today (June 27) and tomorrow (June 28). There is an interpreter in video where I’m sat next to them. Thank to the sponsor and the volunteer who work hard to bring for several deaf who attend there, also.

Just saw commercial ads last night during Biggest Loser. Have you? First, I thought it’s great. Awww, look at them. Aren’t they cute?

BUT I find annoying to see the hearing men don’t know sign language when have girlfriend who is deaf and oral. My friend is right, it’s very sad.

I guess we may not see the real deaf culture for a while since Pepsi’s ads during Super Bowl, which was awesome and funny.
