I sure miss Punch-Out the arcade as I remember when I was brat kid who spent at video game room to play. I must have waste lot of quarter out of my pocket. Until there was Mike Typson’s Punch-Out for NES, it’s not same as the arcade experience. I understand it wasn’t powerful enough to running and it goes on two display which single television wouldn’t fit. Probably it would become pretty awful tiny on giant TV.
Until today, I thought of something as I look at my Nintendo DS. What the hell!? Why can’t Nintendo bring original Punch-Out on DS?? Because it already got two screens, advance engine than old 80s arcade. It would be awesome! Hey Nintendo! Bring damn Punch-Out arcade in DS. I want both Punch-Out and Super Punch-Out arcade all in one tiny might cartridge. It gonna be one hell enjoyable on handheld.
Yeah, I know about the dirty software that let you to running Punch-Out on PC. It’s not same feel. I prefer to play with legal game to enjoy. And yeah, I wasn’t able to get it running on my Mac. That sucks.
Would you interest to have Punch-Out arcade on DS? If I have lot of money, I would want to own the actual Punch-Out the arcade standing. I probably would play everyday. Since I never get chance to beat every opposite.
I brought Pinnacle TV for Mac HD Stick along and EyeTV 2.5. It come with USB stick, remote and antenna and might EyeTV software for Mac. I have to saying it work awesome as it turn as DVR on my laptop. I use my external hard driver that keep away from eat data on my laptop.
To tell you, I don’t subscribe cable but I use OTA (Over-the-air) to receive several channels from antenna what is available in my location what station would give. Basic, you know I able to watch in nice HD show: Fox, NBC, ABC, CBS and CW. It let me setup and record any of my favorite show while I’m not home. Closed caption does a great job, only very tiny scramble when weather or nothing gone wrong. Playback allows me to view with closed caption without loss. So, far I’m happy about it.
BUT…..
Only thing that each I record one of 1-hour show eat about 6 GB (gigabytes). I thought of export from several gig into less gig would work as if I can put on iPod in future. It’s unfortunately, I discovery no export that would allow to save along with closed caption track as it will lose. I have asked Elgato’s (they made EyeTV program) technical support to see if they have an answer about which format to export without loss.
UNFORTUNATELY, there isn’t as I understand as I mention you some time ago about both Quicktime and iTunes have offer Closed Caption feature that is early for the developer to meet. In future, they should have one once they understand something new. Or not…
Addition screenshot of EyeTV with CC

My phat Nintendo DS have finally crack.
I’m weep over my portable video game system. Look like it’s time for me to buy lite DS which is so slim like sexy whatever I can afford it.
The new lineup of iPod devices announced yesterday also includes the closed-captioning capability, and offers the ability to turn captions on or off within the “Video” settings. It is unknown at this point when firmware updates may be available to add this capabilities to existing devices like the Apple TV or iPhone.

I thought that’s GREAT! I would like to get iPod Touch next year when price cut, and more gig and more tv shows and movies available with CC.
First, I would like to said how glad I have hear about Apple introduce new iPod line called “iPod Touch” which have 3.5″ display, that ought be good viewable for anything include subtitle. I thought that device look so sexy and awesome, but no camera. That’s okay. I have my own digital camera. It’s always better than cell phone or PDA with camera. Right? Anyway….
Someone mention about iTunes 7.4 update that have Closed Caption features since QuickTime 7.2 update. I rush and update to check out lately update. It looks like they have make quite small step. It had been a year. Take a good look on some sample I took on screenshot.
Actually, that information is little mislead how to turn CC on.

See what I show you which is an error? However, it prove that there is CC feature.

Silencer, Law & Order: CI (Season 6)
So far, I have playing around on iTunes to find out through store if there any CC or subtitle support like seen on DVD cases’ back for information. Sadly to information, there is NONE even mention. That mean, it’s up to studios that should put CC or not. I wait for them doing that… Maybe we have to bully around with several studio to encourage some bandwidth to turn on/off for us, deaf to watch in portable instead big fat laptop.
For some previous, I have wrote about iTunes/iPod with CC in past…
» iTunes betray us I and II
» iPod with CC
*** UPDATE ***
There are two video that said Closed Captioning. I download to test to play. It doesn’t appear anything on computer. That’s disappointment. And I wish it’s TV or movie, not music video. Ugh. I felt so dirty.
