Hats off to Steve Jobs for finally pushing one of the legacy telcos to give - even if by accident - a break to the deaf. The AT&T data pricing seems to work out to half of what Verizon and Verizon wireless charge. The deaf are being abused by the telcos and Mr. Jobs was able to get the two year contracts waived down to month to month as well as getting us fairly charged the data rate for our slower typing. So Verizon and Verizon Wireless soon will have to explain to the FCC and its oh-so-many committees, why they charge so much and also get to preselect the hardware (phones, netbooks, notebooks, etc.) we who are deaf want. I have a Sony P that Verizon doesn't deem worthy for much of anything and of course doesn't get a cut of the sale I made with Sony directly.

We really are being taken to the cleaners and almost intentionally left out of the huge progress telecommunications could hold for us.

But the FCC is deafer than I am and just continues to ignore the overpricing of all, including the deaf.

it's first version, they probably don't want to add webcam and then people would complain that iPad would be over-price. Who know?

There's no front-facing webcam. This is a real let down for people who wants to use this for video conferencing. This product will be a bust.
